The Thing From HR by Roy M. Griffis

NEVER READ ANYTHING LIKE IT!
This book was something else! Seriously!
I would like to give a round of applause to the author for being able to hold my attention when it opened up to our main character, Narg, talking.
The first thing I noticed was how intelligent the character sounded and I was worried that I wouldn't understand a thing. I thought I would need a dictionary, but as I continued reading on, I did manage to catch onto the context clues. Just be prepared to feel like an idiot for the first couple pages until something clicks and you realize that everything he's saying does make sense.
You won't know until you try it!
Narg is something you call a Shoggoth working as a Damnation Services-10 in HR. When his uncle asks him for help, he finds himself as a human, something he'll call a meat-suit, with no clue as to what his mission is on the earth plain.
I found it interesting to read about how a Shoggoth, something clearly inhuman, learns about human ways. He appeared to have a stoic way of thinking when it came to the poo flingers. That's why it was quite a relief to know that he was merged with someone named Murphy - both minds inside one human body. Without the, once a living human, guide though, the poor shoggoth would have been completely lost.
I give this story five stars!! I mostly enjoyed how it held my attention as I relearned a little about human nature through the shoggoth's observations. There were parts in the book that gave me a bit of a laugh, especially the titles and names given to some of the places.
I recommend this story to those who are looking to read something a little different, a little weird, but entirely enjoyable!
